RCMP have released the name of the pick-up truck driver killed in a fatal crash north of Quesnel, near Hush Lake, on Highway 97 yesterday afternoon.

39-year-old Robert Rexin of Quesnel died at the scene of the collision, which occurred about 4:30pm yesterday afternoon and closed the highway for several hours.

Police say the pick-up truck Rexin was driving crossed the centre line and slammed into an oncoming semi-truck "B" train.  The driver of the semi, 41-year-old Kenneth Ludwig of Prince George, suffered just minior injuries.

Both vehicles erupted in flames immediately after the crash.  RCMP are appealing for information from any witnesses to the accident, as their investigation continues.
