Prince George, B.C.- The month of August had two distinct parts says Environment Canada Meterologist Jim Steele, the first 18 days were on the warm and dry side with a couple cooler days and some showers activity, the 9th stands out as the odd one out, wet and cool. The tables turned on the 19th with part 2 of the month, cool and on the damp side. Temperature only managed to climb above the 20-degree mark once during this period with precipitation recorded on 8 out of the last 13 days.
In his monthly report, Steele says the warmer first half was warm enough to keep the overall mean temperature just a little above normal.
On the precipitation side of things, it was dry until the last day of the month when just over 12 mm of rain was recorded, resulting in almost 100% of normal precipitation for the month.
