I am amazed at how many organizations. who are getting grants, are more than capable of gettting out there and raising funds. Every last one of these are loaded with able bodies for the most part, and those that aren't so capable aren't getting anything or nothing to speak of.
Guess what, this is part of that effort. There is a reason why some are getting funds from this source and others are not. The successful ones have been able to make a case that has been accepted.

Of course, if you would rather have people engage you at the stores you frequent as you go in and out, or ring your doorbell, or phone you at home, well then we can take a huge step backwards to being hounded in our castles. I sure do not want to go backwards to that.

Those old methods have fallen out of favour and are much more difficult to make a success of.

I find it interesting to see that 3 of the groups are arts groups. I was under the impression that they were cut out of receiving such funds.
How many of these funds were already comitted to these organizations and are just a re-announcement to make it look good for the Lieberals?
I don't accept the 60 G's for gynnastics. All sports should be paid by the participating public or business. How come the PGRGC didn't apply for a grant I wonder?
I too would like to know how the $60,000 for gymnastics is being spent. I cannot find an organisation by that name on the internet or registered as a charity. Is it the PG Gymnastics CLUB? Does the money go to helping those who have talent but need some assistance in paying for classes and membership? Or does it go to reducing the fees across the board?

Actually, I think those are fair questions for all. It is just that the $60,000 stands out as extraordinarily large compared to the others.
I have more of a concern about the amount of gaming money coming back into our community. I am not going to criticize who apply's for it or how much they get. Good for them if they receive some. I read last week that the Casino generated $50 Million in revenue last year. $50 Million folks. You have to know that some of that money should have been spent for food, clothing, education and other basic necessities like shelter.

Makes me sick actually, to see this type of entertainment promoted at the expense of our community.
