Kayak doubles as anti-HST placard                                   Opinion250 photo

Prince George, B.C. -  At least one city resident is taking his or her anti-HST sentiments to the streets, literally...

This car and kayak were parked in a city mall lot yesterday afternoon, amidst the hub bub of back-to-school shopping.

While Opinion250 could not locate the owner, a web address listed on the kayak directs those interested in supporting a recall process to www.bcfirstparty.com, which appears to be the very beginnings of a site devoted to the issue.

The kayak still looks ready for its original purpose of cutting through the water, but it's message won't be lost -- it's written in permanent ink.

Support recall by any means possible.
The word "recall" printed on every inanimate object in the province won't let anyone forget. Might send the government a message. Get yer felt pens and spray cans out, folks. Even better if ya didn't pay HST on yer pens or paint.
The thing is you don't advertise an empty web site, or you just lost all credibility as a political alternative. I've thought about this, but at minimum one has to have framework in place before one was to ever go public with something like that. Otherwise all political movements are subject to takeover by opportunists with ulterior hidden agenda's that will use a positive movement to advance their own interests and agenda. Politically speaking subject to hijacking by fifth column ideologues that renders any early support counterproductive and risky at best.
This protest is not carbon neutral.
Here's the site that should have been on the kayak. http://refedbc.com/siteB/
(Another interesting twist in the great hst saga)

"As per the party constitution, every B.C. Liberal riding association will be conducting secret ballots on whether a leadership review is necessary -- a confidence vote."

Yes. B.C. Liberal riding associations are holding their annual general meetings this month and early next. Those members in attendance have the opportunity to cast a secret ballot on whether they support Campbell's leadership.

In the past, he has breezed through these reviews with only a handful of "nays." But according to Bateman, this year the party is concerned that the outcome may not be secure.

"There are roughly 34,000 members of the party and polls show that a majority of B.C. Liberal supporters have a negative perception of Campbell. Cabinet ministers have been tapped to speak before these votes, but it's a secret ballot, and out of any-one's control."

For his part, the Langley riding president doubts "Campbell will hit the kind of threshold he needs to stay politically." He did not cite a specific number. But leaders elsewhere have stepped down after their level of support registered in the 75-per-cent range or lower.

"These results are traditionally kept secret until announced at convention," Bateman continued. "But one would assume that if the numbers are low, Campbell would be given a heads-up ahead of time. A resignation announcement at convention (Nov. 19-20 in Penticton) would forgo the need to announce the results."

Too late to buy a Lieberal Party membership fer five bucks? I must look into that. Kinda like some guy who buys one share of a bank just to go to a shareholders meeting and bad mouth the suits.
Maybe you could get Shirley to spring for the membership cost.. Harris does that for his riding members.
Understand that Vanderzalm will be on Bens Radio show on Tuesday 9am Sept. 7th. It will be interesting to hear what he as to say about this fiasco.
