Prince George- A rookie RCMP constable who drove a police vehicle while under the influence, brought an underage female into a beer garden, worked a road block after drinking and then took pictures of a party he was attending with a police vehicle, asking some of those present to cover the license plate so he couldn’t be detected, now works as a constable here in Prince George.

The Vancouver Sun is reporting that Constable Chris Christinger has been docked ten days pay for the events, the largest fine that can be levelled, short of being fired, by an RCMP disciplinary group.

The incident took place after Constable Christinger, an officer at Alexis Creek, was sent to Bella Coola to help police the annual rodeo.

According  to documents  obtained by the Vancouver Sun, Christinger arrived in Bella Coola several hours before his 4:30 p.m. shift began. He went to the rodeo where he had four vodka type coolers. He then headed back to his hotel, changed into his Mountie uniform and drove off to the Bella Coola detachment.

He was put on road block duty and that is where a senior officer went to relieve him of his duties after being told that he had been seen drinking earlier.

He gave a breathalyser at the scene and was pronounced okay. He was told to go home and not report for work until the following day.

Christinger, however, wasn’t done partying; he went to the home of an 18 year female he had met earlier at the rodeo.

The Constable then encouraged the female and her friends to jump into the police truck for pictures, which were later posted on Face Book.

Constable Christinger told the young women to cover the plate so as to not identify the police vehicle.

He then headed back to the motel, changed again, and then headed back to the rodeo where he told security guards that one of the women was of legal drinking age even though she wasn’t.

The police disciplinary panel said he had displayed disgraceful conduct.

He had been with the RCMP eight months before the incident.

The fact that this guy is still a member of the RCMP speaks volumes about the quality of that organization.
this is not the kind of person we want as a police officer he should be fired!
A fine as punishment is a joke!
Agreed ronald and I suspect most cops would as well. There has to be more accountibility when stuff like this happens. Why anyone in the government would think "Hey, maybe this type of behaviour warrants a second chance" is beyond me.
They are pervs I am telling ya. I know I have seen the way they behave over the years and to me it should be disbanded and have our own Provincial Police and not hire the current members of the R.C.M.P. Learn from the failed polices. In other words go back to Ottawa we don't want you people here.
I wonder which drug gang he works with he has got to be with one of them ...I am sure he will be in the news again. Sure shows how the top of the RCMP think ...if anyone of us did that we would be in jail ...but not a member they protect them ..what a sham the RCMP are turning out to be
I'd like to hear a comment from senior RCMP about this. Seems they are quiet and trying to covering their behinds--with no success.
hahahahaha
So, he's working here in PG now is he?
Fortunately these shenanigans happened early in his career. This will hurt him promotion wise, be third class for a while, methinks.
Hopefully this will be the last of it and he will go on to make something good of himself.
Every line of work, every walk of life there are people who make mistakes, just hope this was an integrity shaker for him.
I'm sure he'll be watched and counseled for a while. Hope he does well.
Just shows the guy is human. A little fun in life is okay. As the saying goes,"work to live, not live to work". Seems he got a little more punishment than the cops who tasered the polish immigrant.
I'll invite him to my next party and get some snapshots in the police car.
Just goes to show us that there is no pride nor professionalism anymore with the R.C.M.P.
It makes no wonder that people have lost respect for the whole lot of you!
Must not have mixed the Kool-aid that they are forced to drink thick enough at boot camp eh?
OMG - A lot of people here must have been born old. Never seen so mannyprudes in one place! A young man being a young man and you would all talk like he went on a major crime spree! Maybe we should allow anyone to be a police officer until they are over 40.
Its quite possible that the Commanding Officer wanted his job, but the 3 person Adjudication Board ruled on the 10 days pay. The Commanding officer can always appeal the board's decision then it has to be the commissioner who makes the final decision. Funny though, with only 8 months on the job, he is still on the two year probationary period...where he can be discharged for below par work or if he just can't perform his duties as a police officer. He was not charged criminally so his pay scale will not be affected.
10 days pay works out to a month's wage so he will feel it. With 8 months service he isn't elligible for promotion anyway until 6 or 7 yrs as a constable. This black mark on his work record will not effect any promotion in this time period.

If you ask me, the quality of many (not all) cadet members entering the RCMP is way too young and they have no life experience when they strap on the gun and wear the uniform. Maybe it's the Generation Y problem.

What I would like to know is why did the Officer in charge of prince george detachment accept this guy to the detachment??? Don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but is he first nations? Isn't the Officer in charge of Prince George First Nations also???

And trucker, no one drinks the poison kool aid until they become officers (management) in the RCMP...heh heh.
And to add, the guy posted the pics on facebook for all to see? What a mental midget.
Sheer abuse of privilege, therefore he should be fired!
Tazer him. Or give him a tazer and he might do it himself. Hire the handicapped, eh?
after reading the paper, another one above the law. Maybe all we have to do is apologize next time anyone of us breaks the law!
Did he drive from the rodeo to the motel? How can you uphold the laws if your breaking them yourself.Maybe a job as a "rent a cop" would be more suitable.
He should be chastised a whole lot more than financially. He should face criminal charges for lying about the girls ages. As far as I'm concerned, because I was once young, he should be given another chance, but only ONE. The punishment should be slightly more than I would recieve because of the position he holds. And he should be sent to Inuvik for 5 years rather than PG.
