UNBC's new campus in Quesnel just off Northstar Rd near the Rec Centre

Advanced Education Minister Murray Coell cut the ribbon, officially opening the new  $12-million dollar campus in front of about 200 guests earlier this week.

The "North Cariboo Community Campus" covers 4570-square metres and houses both the University of Northern B.C. and the College of New Caledonia.  The new site, perched on a bluff overlooking the city, doubles the space the two institutions had previously shared in downtown Quesnel.

Last year, UNBC had more than 40 grads from Quesnel.  Courses currently being offered on-site include Nursing, Education, and Social Work.

"The new site, perched on a bluff overlooking the city"

hmmmmmm ... another Ivory Tower .....

The previous location seemed to be well placed on the periphery of downtown allowing access to other ammenities such as food and coffee outlets, and allow par timers to attend for an hour or two course lecture, then get back to work.

I wonder how quickly they will be looking for a "storefront" location the same as UNBC is doing in PG and others have done in Vancouver?

The "plaza" in front looks like it will be great for skateboarding. Needs some "furniture" to provide a bit more challenge though. :-)
Really this story should be called "CNC opens a new campus". CNC is the main tenant, builder and maintainer of the building. UNBC just has a few offices, no classroom or computer lab spaces. They just book a room with CNC if they want it. Please give the credit to CNC for all the work they did on this building.
Hey, lunars got a good point. Last time I checked it was a C.N.C. campus. Although it is smart to call it an Education Centre, based on the purchase orders and cheques being cut for the facility, it is a C.N.C. facility. Come on 250 get it right!!!!
