Prince George, B.C.- Work to restore and repair Cottonwood Island Park could start soon.
The City had issued a tender for work that would upgrade trails, reinstall the lookout platform that was ripped out during the ice jams of 2007/08, and repair picnic tables. That tender was to close this week.
The work will include new signage, the deactivation of some existing trails and the raising of others.
The work is expected to be complete by the end of this month. That is the same time frame expected for the completion of a new pedestrian bridge that will be a replica of a section of the old Cameron Street Bridge.
