While a request to re-locate the former KGV elementary school is not on this evening's agenda (see earlier story), School District 57's Board of Trustees will receive a pre-demolition assessment report.

The report will provide an assessment of the hazardous and regulated materials in the former elementary school, along with Duchess Park, and the former administration offices on the parcel of land between Ross Crescent and Winnipeg Street.

All three buildings are slated for demolition as part of SD 57's plans to build a new high school, estimated to cost between $18- and $20-million dollars in today's prices.  The hazardous waste removal and demolition portion of that total cost is slated at approximately $3-million dollars.

Also on this evening's agenda, an ammended budget bylaw for 2005-2006 -- the first fiscal year in the last several that recorded a surplus.
