Ospika Re-Opened to Traffic

Prince George, B.C. - Traffic is once again moving through the 26-hundred block of Ospika Boulevard South, after the area had been cordoned off overnight while RCMP dealt with a suspected explosive device.
A witness travelling southbound along Ospika Boulevard came upon the police blockade on his way to work at 8:30 this morning.
He says the silver 320i BMW was pulled over, across from the Westwood Brethren Mennonite Church, with its trunk open.
At that time, police were directing southbound traffic left onto Dufferin Avenue and right onto Vanier Drive, in front of Westwood Elementary School.

The incident began around 7:20pm last night when RCMP pulled the vehicle over for a traffic violation. Officers spotted items in the vehicles which they believed to be related to a break and enter that had occurred earlier Sunday evening. During a subsequent check of the vehicle, a possible explosive device was located. Two males were taken into custody.
The Explosives Disposal Unit was brought in from the Lower Mainland to deal with the device.
That team was on site this morning, but officers left the area before 10am. No word on what the device may have been. The car believed to be responsible for sparking the operation remains parked at the side of the road, with an 'N' displayed on its back bumper, dirt bike helmets and empty drink containers scattered inside.
