Terrace, B.C. – A 51-year-old Terrace man is dead after he was hit by a train this weekend.
RCMP say a CN train was heading west from the city near the Old Kitselas Road Sunday morning when the incident occurred. Investigators say both members of the train crew saw a man enter the track space shortly before 10 a.m. Despite sounding the horns and deploying the brakes, the train couldn’t stop in time and the man didn’t move off the track.
Investigators say the man did not survive the injuries he suffered in the collision. Police believe he was alone at the time of the incident
RCMP say the BC Coroners Service is conducting the investigation and foul play is not suspected.

Sounds like a sure-fire way of committing suicide.
I got run over three times last week in a matter of two blocks my first day in Makati. All three times on the side walk. Once by a car I jumped in time and went over the hood, then by a van backing out of a parking spot without looking, then by a motorcycle using the sidewalk for a shortcut.... and we think our drivers here in Canada are bad. Apparently cars have the right of way in other parts of the world... even on the side walk.
As long as the train doesn't leave the tracks the ordinary person is relatively safe.
Eagleone Pedestrians DO NOT have the right of way in the Philippines. The driving over there is unadulterated chaos, it's every man for himself—watch and beware. But I guess you already found this out.
