The Cougars will look to make it back-to-back home ice victories and three straight wins overall when they host the Brandon Wheat Kings Wednesday night at CN Centre.

The Cougars are coming off an 8-1 pounding of Kamloops Saturday, which has left the Cougars with the most potent offence per game in the WHL, scoring an average of 4.4 goals per outing.  The Cougars come into the contest with a 5-4-1-0 record, just one point back of the Vancouver Giants for first in the BC Division, and holding two games in hand on the Giants.  The Cougars last home outing saw the club pick up its first win at CN Centre, erasing a 2-0 first period deficit and defeating the Prince Albert Raiders 5-2.

Brett Connolly leads the way for the Cougars offensively with nine goals and 16 points, leaving him 11th in league scoring.  Connolly's 10 game point streak this season is the second longest current streak in the league and he is tied with Ryan Howse of Chilliwack for the longest current goal scoring streak, which reached five Saturday in Kamloops.  Meanwhile, the Cougars are getting plenty of offence from the back end, with Sena Acolatse earning CHL Player of the Week honors with 11 points in three games, including a career high five points against the Blazers Saturday.  Martin Marincin has six points in the last three games, with two goals and four assists, and Cody Carlson has earned a point in four of the first five games he has played with the Cougars.

The Wheat Kings are playing the second game of eight straight on the road and first of six in BC.  After starting the season with four straight wins, the Wheat Kings have dropped six in a row.  These two teams are meeting only once this season.  The Cougars and Wheat Kings got together for a trade earlier this week, which saw Prince George get 18 year old netminder Ty Rimmer in exchange for a 2012 Bantam Draft pick.

Puck drop is 7:00pm at CN Centre.  Tickets are available by calling Ticketmaster at 250-564-5585.  The Cougars will host Tri-City Friday and Saturday.
