Prince George, B.C. - A second person has passed away, as a result of a single vehicle car crash near Clearwater that claimed the life of a toddler on Thursday evening.
RCMP say 21-year-old Kirsty Elizabeth Mattice was in critical condition following the crash on Highway 5, 14-kilometres south of Clearwater. She was transported to hospital in Kamloops, where she succumbed to her injuries last night, less than 24-hours after the crash.
Mattice's 33-month-old daughter died at the scene of the accident. The 19-year-old male driver of the vehicle suffered just minor injuries.
At this point, RCMP do not believe alcohol or speed were factors in the crash. They're investigation continutes and police are not commenting on whether charges will be recommended.
The Clearwater RCMP and other emergency personnel are expressing their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the young woman and her daughter.
