okayyyy....*snicker*....ummmm....yeah
She's shut down all the schools around here so I guess it's time to move on...
Yeah, its easy to crap on the ones that make the tough decisions which benefits all of us. ignorance is blisss.

I don't care for Lois, but at least she did the right thing while on the board.

good luck on federal election race.
Oh come on now!...not again!
Obviously she has an ego bigger than a semi!
Perhaps the NDP will draw attention to the plight of the farmers currently being robbed of their land, water and dignity in the Peace River District by energy companies and the rush to extract new reserves of shale gas through fracking.

Clearly Jay Hill never stood up for the little guy, and I doubt the next conservative candidate will either.

The NDP has a strong tradition of standing up for the small town, rural disenfranchised --although they themselves seem to forget this.

I hope Lois will be able to connect with people in the Peace River, and speak up for the portion of the province that supplies much of the electricity, energy, food, timber and revenue, while bearing the environmental and social burdens with little appreciation for our contributions.
Lois will be totally oblivious to the farmers and the little guys outside of Prince George.
While in office Paul Ramsey wanted to fete her and labeled her "the toast of the town". Given her record she wound up "being toast in this town".
But if you had to choose between her and an ex-mayor?
How about Omar Khadr after a successful lobotomy?
Jay Hill always got around 18000 votes in every election. Usually about 9000 more than his nearest rival.

One would think that if he wasnt looking after the people in his riding, he would not be able to garner such a huge following. So it pretty obvious that he has been doing a good job. To think otherwise would be foolish.

Hopefully the people in the PG Peace River riding have the brains to nominate someone from Chetwyn, Tumbler Ridge, Ft St. John, Dawson Creek, rather than some political opportunists from Prince George.

well said Palopu. That is exactly what they are; political opportunists.
With what is happening to Brian Skakun ,who would want it??
There is an opportunity to be a representative in Ottawa for the Peace, parts north, and much of the area of the FFG regional district.

Based on past experience, the opportunity is far more likely to be handed to someone from the Peace, no matter what party.

If anyone is going to be opportunistic, it is going to be someone from the party with a 99.9% probabiliy of success, the Conservatives.

In my opinion, and based on the history of the riding elections, the nominee from the Conservatives with a better than 50/50 chance of winning is from the Peace. Those from PG will have an uphill battle.

An opportunist is someone who adapts his actions, responses, etc., to take advantage of opportunities, circumstances.

Lois is hardly an opportunist. She will run as an NDP candidate if she gets the nomination of her party. She is not switching parties.

Jay Hill was a members of three different right of centre parties. Based on the definition, he would be a primary candidate to be an opportunist. Reform, Canadian Alliance, Conservative.

He lost to Oberle in 1988 when he ran as a Reform candidate against the Progressive Conservative Oberle. The results of that election were

Oberle - Conservative - 13,903
Timberlake - NDP - 11,684
Hill - Reform - 5,077
Monlezun - Liberal - 4,183

its anyones game when election is called, have to compare the platforms.

When they opted to close the schools, the board didn't make a tough decision; they made the only possible decision. The tough decision would have involved being proactive and addressing the issue as it was occurring, not addressing it years too late.
Its disturbing that disturbing_the_peace thinks that being professional protesters like Boone and Cullen is good enough.

Fact is that the NDP will never be running Canada so talk is cheap from NDP mp's and Candidates like Cullen and Boone.

Fact is that no matter what they promise (and they promise lots), they never will have to back it up..cuz they will never be part of the government of Canada.

So if disturbing thinks talking and never delivering is "standing up for the little guy", then I have a bridge to sell him.

I suppose that disturbing thinks that Layton's "work 45 days collect EI for the rest of the year" proposal is just what the little guy needs..... Maybe some little guys like disturbing will like that but little guys with families and mortgages kinda like working full time for full time wages.

Someone said earlier "Jay Hill has won 6 elections with huge majority margins"... seems like the "little guys" liked Jay and kept voting for him.

Prince George Peace River has been well served by Jay Hill and will continue to be well served by a Conservative Member of Parliament after the byelection.....

notwithstanding all the promises that Boone and Cullen will make that they never will have to deliver on.

enough said....

Nice statement. Now back it up! As you say, talk is cheap.

He has been in there for 17 years. It would be nice to know 1 thing per year that we got from the Federal Government, not during the 14 or so years that he was in opposition like the NDP, typically with fewer members than the NDP, but just in the 3 or so years that he was part of the party that was governing.

God only knows why 20,000 plus voted for a guy that, like the NDP, sat there collecting our tax dollars. All those things you say about the NDP and promises .... guess waht ... they applied directly to both Hill and Harris for a very long time.
Bwahahahahahahahahahaha...Stop you're killing me...ahhhahahahahahahahahahahaha
No seriously...stop....hahahahahahahahaha
hahahahaha ohh that's a good one. For a second..hahaha..I thought I read..hahahaha
Lois Boone going ...hahahaha for...ahahahaha..federal...haha...politics.
Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...
Well its someone with name recognition. Hopefully it will be a competitive race and ideas/policies can be discussed.
You want name recognition? How about
Homer Simpson or Peter Griffin? C'mon, does
anyone remember the wrecking ball that was
the NDP in BC? Does anyone remember that Lois Boone & Paul Ramsey were two of the most despised politicians in PG for quite some time? This is who we want in Ottawa?
Lois Boone ... (loser)NDP to become a Conservative?

Boob Rae... (loser)NDP to become Liberal?

Ujjal Dosange ... (loser)NDP to become another Liberal?

What's in a name, eh?
Gus my friend....Jay Hill won six elections with majorities well over 50%, Do the math and just think for a minute...

Why do you think he won with such huge majorities...maybe just maybe all those people who voted for him over and over kinda liked what he was doing......

Ya think??????????
Early bookmaker odds of winning are 1000 to 1. Running under the wrong banner in that riding.
