Vanderhoof Traffic Services Find Fire Power

Vanderhoof, B.C. - RCMP are releasing information now on a find made by the Vanderhoof RCMP Traffic Services Unit
The unit was conducting a Vehicle Road Check at the Provincial Scales on October 21nd, 2010. Several police officers, partnered with the Provincial Commercial Vehicle Enforcement personnel to conduct a road check to determine vehicle maintenance compliance and driver sobriety.
The police flagged a vehicle into the road check for a check of the vehicle and driver. It was established the driver was on Conditions of an Undertaking and in violation of those conditions.
Jesse Woodsford was arrested and an investigation was initiated.
A short time later, a female who was associated to Woodsford, arrived at on scene to give the male a ride and was determined to be involved and an associate of the male.
She was identified as the registered owner of both vehicles stopped in the road check. She was subsequently arrested as well.
A search of the second vehicle resulted in a seizure of crack cocaine, cocaine, marihuana bud, drug paraphernalia, a handgun and a shotgun.
The subsequent investigation led to much more than the police expected. The seizure of drugs and weapons. Police seized:
-Cocaine
-Crack Cocaine
-Crystal Meth
-Marijuana Bud
-Hashish
-Springfield Armory 9MM handgun
-Mossberg Maverick Model 88 12 ga. shotgun
The two people are now facing nearly 2 dozen charges including charges for drugs, firearms and failure to comply with an undertaking.
Jesse Woodsford has been remanded in custody until November 8th, 2010, when he will again appear before the court to answer to the charges. Jennifer Faye Turnbull has been released from custody by the court to answer to the charges at a later date.
The police continue to investigate this matter, with the possibility of more charges. The investigation includes the possibility of a gang related affiliations and other criminal activity.
