New City Manager for Quesnel

Quesnel, B.C. – The city of Quesnel has a new city manager.
John Stecyk, who was most recently Regional Engineer and Construction Project Leader for the federal government, will take on his new job January 4th, 2011.
The city says Stecyk brings a wealth of experience in public administration from his time as Deputy Minister of Infrastructure for the Yukon Government, Assistant Deputy Minister of Government Services for the Government of Saskatchewan, and Superintendent for Regina Public Schools.
"Council was impressed by John's managerial skills, his past experience and his extensive intergovernmental abilities and knowledge," said Mayor Mary Sjostrom. "We're looking forward to his arrival in January as he begins to work with Council and staff as we set our future for the City of Quesnel."
Stecyk says his family is looking forward to coming to Quesnel from Chilliwack.
Interim City Manager Jack March plans to return to his former role and Public Works Director.
