2010 poster put out by Veterans Affairs Canada
Prince George, B.C. - "How will you remember?"
That's the question posed this year by Veterans Affairs Canada, as Veterans' Week begins today and ends on Remembrance Day, November 11th.
The 'word cloud' in the poster above lists some of the words that come to mind when thinking about Remembrance Day and all it entails and those words are meant as a 'call to action' to Canadians to think about their participation in this year's events.
Veterans Affairs has outlined a number of ways to remember and honour our Veterans:
- Pin a poppy above your heart.
- Attend a local Remembrance Day ceremony.
- Visit a friend or relative who just returned home from Afghanistan or who served elsewhere in the world.
- Listen to Veterans talk about their experiences.
- Create a mashup and share it on the YouTube channel.
- Visit the Veterans Affairs Canada fan page on Facebook, write on our wall and share how you remember.
- Change your Facebook profile picture to a poppy, write on your wall about how you remember or create your own remembrance fan page.

In Prince George, seating for the Remembrance Day service on Thursday begins at 9am in the Civic Centre, the service starts at 9:30 and the Parade to the Cenotaph is at 10:45am.
