Prince George B.C. - The new Aboriginal Choice School in Prince George will name a new, interim, principal this afternoon.
Charlotte Henay, who has been with School District 57 for the past 2 and half years leading to the opening of the School, submitted her resignation on Monday. School District 57 Superintendent Brian Pepper says her resignation was accepted, and became effective, immediately.
Pepper will not reveal any details about Henay’s departure except to say she is pursuing other work. The rapid timing of her resignation and departure are raising some questions. The School District is not at liberty to release any details on this ( or any other personnel matter) citing the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
The Aboriginal Choice School accepted its first students in September, and while there was what Henay called at the time a “soft” opening, the date for an official grand opening celebration has not been determined. Henay was hired in 2008 and moved to Prince George from Toronto.

Its everything PG, this region, and the natives that live here did not need, and we will likely one day regret... it cost us many good rural schools for this bit of social engineering... not something a come lately from Toronto would understand.
