small bombs,  about the size of a pen,  have been  exploding in  mailboxes in Terrace
Terrace, B.C. – Small mailbox bombs detonated in a Terrace neighbourhood over the last month have RCMP concerned.
Police received complaints from families in the bench area of the city on October 3rd and November 1st about small explosives being set off in their mailboxes.
Investigators say the explosives appear to be home made and, judging from the damage done to the mailboxes, could cause serious injury to someone that was close by when the device detonated. RCMP say the people responsible for the bombs could face mischief or even criminal negligence charges if someone was hurt by the explosions.
Terrace RCMP are asking the public to contact the local detachment or Crime Stoppers if they have any information about the mailbox explosives.

I suspect if the kids can'y buy firecrackers, they will eventually learn to make them.
Has no one ever seen screetchers tightly wrapped with duct tape and then pounded with a hammer??? We used to make these 35 years ago as teens around Halloween! The world has become way too serious!
RCMP say the people responsible for the bombs could face mischief or even criminal negligence charges if someone was hurt by the explosions. - That is one of the problems, they wait to punish until someone gets hurt or killed. They need to bite it in the arse now. Catch them, fine them and charge them so they have a criminal record for the rest of their lives. If they are willing to put people in harms way now, they could get worse as they get older.
It's pretty obvious that they didn't set these off when others were present which means no -no else would be near them when they were detonated. I'm quite sure they weren't set off with a remote blasting cap device ar anything sophisticated to a greater degree that a bic lighter. Chalk it up to a halloween trick and wipe the powder burns off your junk mail.
