Councillor Cameron Stolz, Mayor Dan Rogers, resident Elsie Caron, developer John Ung and builder Dennis Kwiatkowski cut the ribbon  to officially open the  new units at the Country Seniors  Community  on the Hart Highway.

Prince George, B.C.- It was time to celebrate at the Country Seniors residence off the Hart Highway this morning.
The site has added the newest seniors housing in Prince George. Fifteen new apartments and a community hall were completed just last week.

The new units expand the Country Seniors complex to 52 in total, and all but four of the new units have already been   rented.

The $2 million dollar expansion is phase one of a development plan for the complex. Co-developer John Ung, says if there is demand, they will move forward with the second part of the expansion.

The complex offers ground level entry suites that have either 2 bedrooms or one bedroom with a den/storage area.

Elsie Caron has lived in the complex for the past seven years says she won’t be moving into one of the new units, but she was front and centre when it came to cutting the ribbon. “I just love the people here” says Elsie.

The privately owned complex is designed for seniors who  still have their independence.
