Prince George, B.C. - RCMP are investigating a smash and grab at a  hair salon on Ahbau Street.

Early yesterday morning, police got a call  reporting a break and  enter at the "His and Hers Hair Gallery" in the 500 Block of Ahbau Street.

A witness reports seeing a Caucasian male wearing a toque, white hoodie and blue jeans, smashed through the window to the business and stole a small amount of cash and a laptop computer. The suspect fled south bound on Ahbau Street in a dark coloured, newer Volkswagen Beetle.

The Prince George RCMP have attended several similar crimes in the last month. In most cases windows are smashed on small commercial businesses and cash boxes and electronic equipment are stolen.

"The Prince George RCMP would like to remind business owners to take the necessary precautions to minimize the chance of your business being targeted" says RCMP Cst. Craig Douglass. " Digital security cameras, alarm systems and retractable metal window covers, will help prevent your business from being a target. In addition, all items of value should be secured in a safe or removed from the business if possible." adds Cst. Douglass.

Ensure the Make, model and serial numbers of equipment are recorded and are kept off the property.

Business owners are encouraged to contact the   Prince George RCMP Community Policing Section at (250)561-3366 for a free security assessment.

Get the gun, Mama. Somebody gonna hurt real bad.

We're going to be forced to put bars on everything; just like Chicago and Detroit. That's what happens when we don't punish anyone for crime.
Oh come on Supertech, we punish them.

We slap their wrists . . . or rather almost slap their wrists, as hitting would violate their charter rights. :)
