Prince George, B.C. - It was an emotional Brent Marshall who thanked his staff, Northland's customers, his wife, his business partner, his children and the staff of Northern Health, for honouring him and his company by naming the Paediatric wing at the Univeristy Hospital of Northern B.C., "The Northland Dodge Paediatric Wing".
The entrance to the wing is alive with colourful artwork created by Splash Media and a sign declaring the wing the Northland Dodge Paediatric wing. There is also a special plaque that will be placed within the unit crediting Northland Dodge, Bent Marshall and his family for all their work and dedication to the unit.
The honours come after his company donated $1.1 million dollars over the past five years to various equipment needs in the wing. "I didn't think this would be such a big deal for me" said Marshall as he fought back the tears "But it really is a big deal and I am so very honoured."
Two of Marshall's children, Carter and Cassie, helped unveil the new arch way art work by tearing down the brown paper that has been covering the new installation.
Dr. Charles Jago, Chair of Northern Health's Board of Directors thanked Brent Marshall and his company for their generous donations saying it is philanthropy that makes the difference between very good care, and excellent care, because it allows for all the extras which cannot be provided by government funding.
