Kitimat, B.C. - Kitimat RCMP are hoping an increased reward will help them track down a suspect in a triple murder over 13 years ago.

Despite over a thousand tips and weeks of extensive searching, investigators are still looking for Kevin Vermette.

On July 12th, 1997 RCMP say Vermette shot and killed three males and critically wounded a fourth after following their vehicle into Hirsch Creek Municipal Campground north of Kitimat.

Police say Vermette then drove back to his motel residence and then fled into the bush around Kitimat.

Police say a new wanted poster with enhanced pictures of Vermette and an increased reward of $25 000 has now been issued.

Kitimat RCMP say the investigation is still active and monitored by the North District Major Crime Section out of Prince George.

Anyone with information should contact the Kitimat RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
