Ah yes, good olde Dr. Stilwell...... Moirahttp://moirastilwell.ca/

She is the one who has the following on her web site.

"And A Special Thank You To My CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTORS

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has contributed to my campaign, and to especially thank those who have donated through my website. While I have received your donation, I have not yet received your personal information due to the technical turnaround time of the online system. But rest assured, you will be receiving a receipt and I will be sending you a personal note of thanks in the coming weeks.

Thank you again for your support."

What campaign is she talking about? Seems to me the campaign was in May 2009.

Just the type of person we do not need as a leader. Nothing would ever get done.
I bet the first campaign promise of Ian Tosentson`s will be to reduce the minimum wage to $1.25.

Interesting bio for Tosentson. Hope he goes for it. I would like to learn a bit more about him.

As a member of the restaurant industry, I figured he could not be for the HST.

Here is a letter he wrote about that last year.

Sounds like he had to bite his tongue with the treatment he got from the ministers at the time.
I doubt that minimum wage is his big concern. Chain fast food restaurants, for instance, pay above minimum wage from what I can tell.

But, who am I to judge, right? .....

Here is a bit more on that. It may surprise you. It does not surprise me one bit after reading his bio. Fits right in.

September 8, 2010http://www.vancouversun.com/business/Time+right+increase+minimum+wage/3492499/story.html

"The association’s CEO, Ian Tostenson, told Postmedia News reporter Carla Wilson at the Victoria Times Colonist that a review of the minimum wage would be “the responsible thing.”

"That strikes me as at least a tacit endorsement of an increase, given that, after nearly a decade of stalled wage levels, no review could credibly come up with any other answer.

"Tostenson makes the point — and I think it’s a good one — that any increase, especially a big one, should be implemented in carefully paced stages. The food industry simply couldn’t absorb a one-time jump of, say, $2 an hour to the often-cited level of $10 an hour."

I am starting to like the guy already. He may have both a brain and a heart. But then, I am easily fooled .... :-)
Tostenson on HST to his BCRFA members

http://bcrfablog.com/2010/06/14/latest-update-to-member-from-bcrfa-president-ceo/

"It has been nearly a year since the government broke its promise and announced HST would indeed be implemented in 2010. We have been battling this in the press, on the web and behind the scenes, while implementation seems inevitable for July 1, we have not given up the fight. The government made a commitment to the BCRFA that it would meet with a representative group to see what other measures could be undertaken to assist industry."

Looks like a series of broken "promises" ......

If he steps in, it ought to be interesting just for the issues battle.
Lekstrom...no.
Stillwell...no.
Tosentson...hmmm...maybe?
He isn't a paid-up member of the Liberal click, that we know of...that makes him interesting,at least at first glance.
Mind you,he isn't officially declared yet.
I think anyone who's name is not Falcon,Abbott,Coleman,deJong,Bell,Bond,Rustad,oh hell...anyone who isn't in the Campbell cabinet...might have a shot!
And it's not just you, gus!
We are ALL easily fooled, and the present Liberal government proves that!
i just wish someone with no ceo of this or lawyer of that get in,its always someone who already has motives and agendas with his or her cronies on how its best for them ! anyway ,,,,my truck wont start
Gus:
appreciate your digging on Stilwell and her campaign issues.
That alone gave me pause. I'd never heard of this person til today. So, a person involved in Nuclear Medicine knows what about politics or how to run a province.
I see nothing on her website that qualifies her.
Stilwell is a ringer.
She doesn't have a hope of even getting close and she knows it.
She will garner as much support as she can and then throw it to whichever Liberal heavyweight is favoured after the first ballot.
Old trick.
Smoke and mirrors.
Bell will make it to the last three standing, and can use it to keep PG in the forefront. He is just plain too clean and honest to be a political leader. He is not the type of guy which grinds an axe.
Thanks for reminding me of that Andyfreeze. You are quite right.
Even though some on here do not like Bell, I think he has the potential of being a good leader.

I remember when he addressed a crowd to warm them up before Campbell came into the room. After that, Campbell was totally anticlimatic.

Bell is nothing more that a yes man. He smiles and says the right things, and is pretty good at cutting ribbons and photo-ops, but thats about it.

Seems to me most people on these posts still think the Liberals will be around after the next election. I suggest to you that they will be history. A third party, with plenty of support coming down the middle will blow the hell out of the NDP and Liberals. Who knows what the end result will be, but it certainly will not be a Liberal Majority. These dogs have run their last mile. All the Cabinet Ministers, including Bell are responsible for the terrible situation we have today, whether it be the sale of BC rail and the hairy fairy trail after that. The Olympic over-runs, and the hidden tolls on the Sea to Sky Highway. Increased costs in services in many areas to offset the decrease in taxes. Implementation of the HST. Yo Yo 15% tax reduction. BC Transmission Corp fiasco. Run of the river fiasco. Channeling money from ICBC into general revenues, increase in gambling, including online gambling. Channeling millions of dollars from the export tax on lumber to the USA to general revenues, and keeping it very quiet. This list goes on.

Putting a new saddle on an old horse, doesnt change the horse.

Its time for a change.
I know the BCRFA is a better association because of Ian.... He is a smart man with excellant vision for the future... I wish him well
Ian was ready to cut a deal with the Liberals and get some releif for the restaurant assoc from the HST. :Problem is he was willing to look after his own and to hell with the rest of us.

Not exactly a Captain that would look after women and children first and then go down with the ship. More like a self serving Liberal.
So what special interest group are you a part of Palopu?

And .... what compromises are you willing to make in order to accommodate the "women and children" first before you look after your own?
"Bell is nothing more that a yes man."

Guess what, Palopu. You may know some things, better than I do. But you have little clue what you are talking about in this case.

Those people who work in the silviculture end of forestry have several decades of experience with ministers responsible for forestry with the whole spectrum of parties in power over that time period. They pretty well agree that Pat is the best minister they have had to work with. The problem, as we all know, is how well can the minister deal with the chief forester and the rest of the administration.

Pat works hard. He probably promises too much on many occasions because he really wants to help and thinks he can sometimes. But all of us, you included Palopu, have limits.

These people are not supermen/women. While many may rest on their behind more than others, Pat is not one of them.

You just can't tell good people when you see them, can you Palopu? Good people do not all come with NDP baseball caps.
