Prince George, B.C. -Peace River South MLA BLair Lekstrom  has announced he will not seek the leadership of the Liberal Party.

Lekstrom  quit the  Liberal Caucus  5 months ago saying he  had to represent the wishes of his constituents and  since they were opposed to the HST he had no choice but to step  down.

Lekstrom  says he  believes he is serving the people of his riding well as an MLA.  In a statement released this morning, Lekstrom says his current   job allows him to  " maintain a quality of life with my family and friends that is second to none."

That makes two  possible runners who are out of the race.  Last week, Surrey Mayor Diane Watts made it clear she  is not  in the running.

It is expected Kevin Falcon,  George Abbott, Rich Coleman and Mike deJong will make their intentions known this week.

There is  still a gret deal of speculation that Carole Taylor is waiting in the wings  before making her intentions known.

three witches at the Caldron, each taking their turn on the ladle.
I don't blame him.

So......that's number 2 or 3 saying "no" to the top liberal job.

Who's next? Lol,
"In a statement released this morning, Lekstrom says his current job allows him to " maintain a quality of life with my family and friends that is second to none."

He is being quite honest, isn't he?
The Campbell's camp have their grips on the party and they really don't want a change candidate.

too bad... he could bring some integrity back to the party
Yes, too bad Blair Lekstrom has decided not to seek the Liberal leadership. He comes across as a quality human being who believes in the democratic way. I think he could have saved the Liberal Party's fall from grace due to Campbell's lies and activities. What a poor choice we have for political parties in BC at the moment.
and today's different how, Honestjoe? our party system creates these "dynasties" and by the time a change can be made everybody owes everybody so many favors that they can't be objective or fair or smart.... or honest.
