Prince George, B.C. – The upgrades to the recovery boiler system at the Northwood Pulpmill have been approved for funding from the Federal Government’s Green Transformation Fund.
The $100 million dollar capital project is planned for completion in the fourth quarter of 2011 and is expected to provide economic and environmental benefits to the pulpmill’s operations.

On October 9, 2009, the Canadian federal government announced the allocation of credits from the billion dollar Pulp and Paper Green Transformation Program. The Canfor Pulp Limited Partnership was allocated credits up to $122.2 million from the program.
The funding is in addition to $15.6 million already approved for two other projects at the Prince George Pulpmill.

I agree, better AQ, more profitable business means better longevity, and the bottom line is better quality of life for PG residence. And, we have all paid taxes but this time our community will benefit.
