Prince George, B.C.- Wednesday, Attorney General Mike deJong will be announcing his intentions to run for the Liberal Leadership.
That announcement will follow a similar announcement tomorrow by Health Minster Kevin Falcon. In  Falcon’s case, the announcement will be made first in Cloverdale, then again at 6:00 p.m. in Prince George.
The list of hopefuls will grow by the end of this week, with Solicitor General Rich Coleman entering the race by the end of the week. He is expected to be in Prince George on Thursday.
The three will join George Abbott and Moira Stilwell who have already announced their intentions.
The only two who have yet to make an official decision are Christy Clark and Carole Taylor.

Welcome to the BC version of the "Anybody but Bush" election - Anybody But Carole!!!
Hmmm, Thank you Gordo. I don't ever remember Prince George being on the map, on a place to be, when making a political announcement.

Thanks to Gordo, he put us on the map.
I hope they are paying for these trips out of the parties funds. I would hate to think as a taxpayer I'm paying for their campaigns.
Be interesting to hear the candidates flip side on the HST, BCR sale, blown budget, etc. I wonder how they will manage to blame Campbell for all the screw ups and come up smelling like roses.
To bad they didn't grow some balls before Campbell resigned so the message they portray in the future might just be credible.
Anybody but the Liberals! It doesn't matter who the new leader is gamblor...they are out and the NDP are back, yahoo, jobs, jobs, jobs!
Can't help but wonder why so many seem to think that Carole Taylor would be the answer?
Assuming of course, that she even runs?
She is a Liberal first and foremost, and she is a bean counter.
As far as the HST is concerned, she may not like the way Campbell and his clowns brought it in,but that doesn't mean she won't support the HST itself.
I was a diehard Liberal supporter all my life, federally and provincially, even had a card, but I would crawl 5 miles over broken glass to avoid voting for anyone from the Campbell government OR the federal Liberals.
(not that the Campbell thugs are actually Liberals)
And for those who think Christy Clark would be the solution, you really need to Google her and the B.C. rail disgrace.
Some things and some people are not quite what they seem, but first,we have to want to see past the hype.
That's what got us into trouble in the first palce.
"Anybody but the Liberals! It doesn't matter who the new leader is gamblor...they are out and the NDP are back, yahoo, jobs, jobs, jobs!"

You're funny... :)
"I hope they are paying for these trips out of the parties funds."

Yes. but the donors top the party get a large right off from the payable taxes. So, taxpayers are funding this.

And businesses that donate to the party can write it off as a promotional business expense, so they pay less taxes and the rest is built into the price of goods and services businesses charge their customers.

If they are selling their wares outside the province, it works, otherwise it is an internal readjustment of the musical chairs.

Nothing is for nothing ... :-)
Good article in today's Globe and Mail (BC edition) making the first-ever mention of the new Monster Ministry -- the Ministry of Natural Resource Operations.

It's here, with two charts:

I keep wondering about the extreme secrecy ... why? And how did Gordo keep so many people quiet?
.
Wow...damn good read B.C.Mary!
This one needs to be looked at hard and fast, because it stinks bigtime!
Actually,it needs to be killed!
Just one more reason that shows this government under Gordon Campbell has an agenda that parliament and the people of B.C. know nothing about!
