Mountain Pine Beetle Info Session Set

Prince George, B.C.- Tomorrow, the focus is back on the mountain pine beetle as there will be a special information session at UNBC.

Hosted by Minister of Forests, Mines and Lands, Pat Bell, the session  will look at options for managing wildfire and natural forest structure.

Ministry experts will make presentations about the growth of new and surviving trees, mid-term timber supply projections, forest carbon, and wildfire behaviour in beetle-attacked areas.

Presentations will be made on:

1. Mountain Pine Beetle and Fire
2. Forest Values Following MPB Attack
3. Secondary Stand Structure and Its Timber Supply Implications for Mountain Pine Beetle- Attacked Forests of Central British Columbia
4. Choosing Management Options for Post-MPB Impacted Stands

The session is set for Wednesday evening from 7-9 at the Weldwood Theatre at UNBC

Its amazing we are still talking about the Mountain Pine Beetle. It happened, the trees died, the wood is near worthless. The Governments in charge missed the target.
Bugs came-Bugs chewed-Bugs flew- Bugs died-Trees turned red-Trees died-Trees fell over----What the 4u(k are we studying????
Won't be surprised to see a MPB killed tree tax shoved down our throats. ;-)
We don't need an info session on stuff we already know!
They need to spend our tax dollars somehow Imorge.
