Prince George- Police have busted what they say is another major grow-op on the region.
Last Thursday, members of the RCMP's Cariboo Region Integrated Marihuana Enforcement (C.R.I.M.E.) Task Force, North District Drug Section and Prince George Detachment executed a search warrant on Horrocks Road south of Prince George, BC.
Upon execution of the search warrant, a large indoor sophisticated marihuana grow operation was found on the property. The operation consisted of three separate marihuana growing rooms with marihuana plants in various stages of maturity.
2298 marihuana plants were seized. In addition, approximately $4000.00 in cash and equipment used to run the operation were seized. It was also determined that the grow operation was being run with the use of a stolen overhead electrical transformer and there was a theft of BC Hydro taking place.
One adult male who provided an address from the lower mainland of BC, was arrested at the residence. Charges of Production of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Theft of Telecommunication Service under the Criminal Code, will be forwarded to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada for charge approval.
