Real Estate Sales Showing Improvement

Prince George, B.C.- The BC Real Estate Association says the real estate market has finally climbed out of it’s summer doldrums.
In the B.C Northern region ( which includes Prince George)  the stats show there was a 7.3% increase in the number of active listings in November of 2010 compared to the same month a year ago. The Average price last month slipped 4.6% to $212,761 dollars compared to $222,997 of November ’09.
Sales for November 2010 are up, with 283 units sold last month compared to 257 in November of ’09.
The year to date figures also show a slight increase in most areas, with dollar volume of sales up 2.9% to just over $739.5 million and  there has been an increase of 3.1 % in the number of units sold so far this year. The average year to date price has slipped 0.2% to $211,861 dollars.
According to the BCREA, across the province, improved economic conditions and low mortgage interest rates have contributed to a 46% increase in home sales since July.
