Prince George, B.C.- The investigation into an incident at the Prince George RCMP detachment is  nearing an end.
You may recall, last August, a First Nations woman was picked up at a party and taken to the local detachment where she was being booked for causing a disturbance.
There were concerns raised about the care and handling of the woman while she was in the custody of the one female and two male RCMP officers.
A video of the booking process was reviewed and an internal code of conduct and criminal investigation launched to see if RCMP policy had been breached or if there were grounds for possible charges.
The Commission for Public Complaints Against the RCMP has also launched an investigation as   an official complaint was laid with that office.
“E” Division Media relations spokesperson Corporal Annie Linteau says the investigators hope to have both investigations complete and to forward the results of their investigation to Crown in early January.
An independent observer who is First Nations, has been granted access to all materials gathered in this investigation.

This here complaints commission,is this an independent comm. seperate from the cops??
Or is this another case of cops looking after cops?
From the website:
The CPC is an independent agency created by Parliament to ensure that public complaints made about the conduct of RCMP members are examined fairly and impartially.

The CPC is not part of the RCMP.

CPC reports make findings and recommendations aimed at correcting and preventing recurring policing problems.

The CPC's goal is to promote excellence in policing through accountability.
