Comment or Not To Comment?
Prince George, B.C. – Over the weekend, Opinion 250 was forced to prevent commenting on political stories because of the nature of the comments being posted.
It seems, that with two political parties in leadership races, the flood gates were opened for personal attacks on candidates, columnists and reporters.
Here at Opinion 250, we don’t want to prevent comments, however, when discussion degenerates to the level witnessed on the weekend, clearly, something has to be done.
So, we want your thoughts on what we can do to allow you to keep commenting on political stories, without having to have someone sitting at a computer 24/7 to make sure the comments stay within our boundaries of legality, good taste, and anti-bullying.
Pass along your suggestions, and we will weigh the options in an effort to keep the discussion forum open on political issues. We will come back to you with our preferred options for your final input before taking action.
You can submit your thoughts by commenting on this story, or by sending your suggestions to talk@opinion250.com.
