Prince George, B.C.- The lawyers for Crown and Defence in the Brian Skakun trial will be back in court on the 14th of this month.
They attended today to try and set a date for the continuation of his trial for breaching the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Instead, the two sides have agreed to return to court on the 14th to try once more to set a date that will be suitable for all involved.
Skakun’s trial initially started in October. There were three days of testimony at that time, another four days in December. The Judge in this case believes another two days will be enough to ensure a completion of the case.
The Defence expects to call at least one more witness, and there is a possibility Councillor Brian Skakun may take the stand.

Maybe Mr. Skakum, or any one else who hires a lawyer can do it on a contract basis. One case, one price. For we all know if ya pay some one by the hour to do a job, it will turn out to be a career with them. If it's a contract, you will want to get it done expediently and move on to your next contract. IMO
No kidding! This is bloody silly. You'd think it was an international issue. It is proof that this justice system is flawed and corrupt beyond immagination.
Gang Ranch: The Real Story, written by Judy Alsager is a read that will give you some idea of just how flawed and corrupt this system is.
If they find him guilty I sure hope they make him pay court costs.

NB, I said "if". I'm not the judge.
The guilty people in this drama are the people that let this happen. I wish Brian luck and I hope he wins. We get a Counciler with some GUTS and we kick him in the GUTS. We need to take some civil courage, about a lot of things in Prince George.
