Alternate Approval Process Results To Be Detailed Tonight

Prince George, B.C.- The latest alternate approval process will be up before Prince George City Council this evening as results of the petition against borrowing money for the new RCMP building will be presented.
 
The report indicates the process failed.
 
According to the report to be submitted to Council this evening, 1,147 people signed up to show their opposition to the plan to borrow a further #13.8 million dollars for the construction of the RCMP building.
 
The total cost of the building is $38.9 million and all but about a million dollars will be borrowed for this project.

Sorry,but what failed?
Did the Alternate Approval Process itself fail,or did the petition fail to get enough signatures to move ahead?
I have the same question as Andyfreeze. With only 1,147 people opposing it I'm assuming that the opposition failed but the first paragraph leads me to believe otherwise. Must be Monday...grumble, grumble, grumble.
It seems we have to become a police city and we have to house them somewhere with the newest and the latest. We will have to forgo the ARTS. How did we get here? We are asleep at the wheel.
Here we come "bank rupped City". Dont forget to mention the fact in your presidential speach tonight Mr Mayor.
