New Head of Northwest Community College

Terrace, B.C. – Northwest Community College has a new president and CEO.
 
Doctor Denise Henning comes to NWCC from the University College of the North in The Pas, Manitoba where she served as president and vice chancellor since 2006. UCN has two main campuses and 12 regional centres, nine of which are in First Nations communities.
 
Dr. Henning is a Cherokee/Choctaw originating from Creek County in Oklahoma and holds a Doctorate in Educational Management and Development from New Mexico State University.  She also holds a Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Urban Studies and Anthropology.
 
“I am passionate about equity and inclusion in higher education and look forward to building relationships at the College and in the communities we serve so that NWCC can continue its journey of transformational change,” Henning said.
 
Henning has also held positions at the University of Regina and the First Nations University of Canada.
 
Henning will take over her new position March 1st
