Public Invited to Talk about Mountain Pine Beetle Impact

A public forum and panel discussion on the impact of the mountain pine betle has been set.
Opinion250's Ben Meisner will be on the panel along with Bob Simpson MLA – Cariboo North , Don Zurowski , City Councilor and with Community Futures – Prince George, Debora Munoz City Councilor and Chair of Citizens’ Coalition on Mountain Pine Beetle, Howard Lloyd Former MLA and local businessman and Lara Beckett Eco-forestry advocate.
Organized by the Active Voice Coalition , the evening is aimed at discussing what communities and residents can do to cope with the economic and social impact of the beetle infestation. The guest speaker is Ben Parfitt, a reasearcher with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives. Parfitt has writen several reports on the beetle epidemic, he says the province is at a crossroads and needs a clear vision for the future.
The forum and discussion has been set for Thursday March 2nd at 7p.m. at CNC room 1-316
