Prince George, B.C. -  The heavy snow forecast to hit the region began falling this evening, and city streets are becoming slippery...

The conditions are believed to have played a role in a three-vehicle collision in the intersection of 15th Avenue and Ospika Boulevard that occurred around 10:30pm this evening.

Police say there were no serious injuries as a result of the fender-bender, but a full complement of emergency vehicles responded to the scene.  (Photo at right courtesy of Steve Seibert)

At the best of times, the intersection is known as a high-risk crash spot and just had a red light camera installed this past week as part of an upgraded province-wide intersection safety program.  (click here, for previous story)

got to the accident just after it happened. Called the police for them.
I'll bet there were more factors than the snow...
But I guess it is good to be able to have an alibi
Still haven't heard the alibi for the cop that wrapped the car around the pole on First avenue. Normally there would be a charge of dangerous driving or impaired for an incident like this. Just another case of the police being above the law? I heard the car was a write off. $50,000 plus of taxpayers money with no penalty!
At least one of the drivers may have been upset that Tim's no longer had much of a selection of donuts available at that time at night.
This is no surprise. Most of the people that drive on Ospika, or anywhere in PG for that matter drive like it's a warm summer day on the highway. I'd support mandatory driver retesting if it meant getting these people off the road.
Slow down take it easy don't have a heart attack or anything like that.
Retesting will not stop them to drive with a Cup of Coffee in there Hand or Cellphone, look at all the "N" People driving like mad. Retesting is more Revenue for the Government, it's plenty to pay for a New one every 5 Years, not like many European Countries it's good for Live until they take it away, nothing like a Money Grab and makes no better Drivers.
One License for the whole Country, collect Points you loose it, my way of thinking cut down on Paperwork.
I'll bet dollars to doughnuts, one or all were texting. People just don't get it!
"look at all the "N" People driving like mad"

Are those "N"'s on vehicles decals or magnetized signs? If they are not removable when the Novice drirver is not driving, then how many vehicles are being shared with other drivers?

Then again, the definition "driving like mad" is a relative term as well. :-0
Hey look at that BCRacer..... even after all the warnings about the dangers of driving in an automobile, these people involved in this incident chose to do so anyways and the taxpayer paid for their rescue.

I bet that ticks you off hey!
We should have mobile examiners out driving around just watching how people drive. If they see someone make a bad mistake, just follow them for a short time and video tape them. Too many mistakes and you lose your drivers license. Simple. It would certainly cut down on the amount the police have to do. If the police, when issuing a ticket for driving, entered the license number into a catalogue for the examiners to watch out for and then give the exminers the power to confiscate the license on the spot after watching them drive, until the driver could prove to the court that he should have it back, it would make it very simple to get bad drivers off the road until they learned better. ICBC, are you listening?
I don't like to live in a Orwellian Society , no Videos yet, about the "N" maybe they all drive like that?
I remember them just recently spending a lot of money on a better light configuration for a safer intersection. Me and thees money well spent.
