Building Permits in 2010 Nearing Norm

Prince George, B.C.- The number of building permits issued  in Prince Georg has remained fairly constant with 626 in 2009 and 650 in 2010. However, construction values have almost doubled from $68 million in 2009 to $131 million in 2010, with the residential and institutional sectors seeing the greatest increases. The number of permits for singgle family dwellings  has also increased significantly from 70 in 2009 to 121 in 2010.   The City's Planning Department says the nuymbers  demonstrate that  2010 was essentially, a  year which say development activity  return to levels which are  more in line with the 10 year average.
