Photo Contest Winners Announced

Prince George, B.C.-  Theview of a foggy city  from University Way  has won first prize in the myPG  photo contst.

The contest called for photos of Prince George which expressed what they love about Prince George, their favourite place in the City and  what defines Prince George as unique to them.

 Daniel Stanyer came  away with first prize,  for his October 2010 photo shown above, but the judges work  was not easy.

The second prize went to  Bill Campbell  for his view of  the Fraser  River

( photo at right is Campbell's  second place winning photo)

Third place was awarded to Tyler Neilson, for his image, below left entitled "Forest".

Selected images will be used as part of a Prince George photo essay to be presented at the final public review of the Official Community Plan in 2011. 

All  winning photographers received a commemorative plaque,  gift certificates in varying amounts and bragging rights.

Where was the "Forest" picture taken - it is beautiful!
All of them stunning photos. We live in such a beautiful place. These are the things we should be thinking about, how lucky we are to live here, instead of complaining about every single little thing.
I believe the Forest photo was taken in the Ancient Forest.
It says on the photo description it was taken just east of Prince George.

ob1: the 'forest' picture was taken in the bush. If you go into the bush, you can see that too.
Forest ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/tylerneilson/5192607051/ ) was taken at the start of the Viking Ridge Hike, probably no more than 100m off the highway. The GeoTag information on the picture (the map is viewable on the Flicker site) is going to be fairly accurate.
