CIty Resumes Budget Talks

Later today City Council gets to take a look at the budgets for Initiatives Prince George and some Administrative Departments.  Initiatives Prince George will make a presentation outlining it's  plans for the year ahead, and it's accomplishments for the year past.

Initiatives Prince George is looking for $1.39 million from the City for 2006, which is up $239 thousand over last years contribution.  IPG's total projected budget for this year is $2.03 million with the difference coming from a variety of public and private sources.

Also up for discussion  are the budgets for the Library, the City Manager's Office, and grant enhancement requests for the Child Development Centre, the Native Friendship Centre, the Community Foundation and the Community Arts Council.

Good questio Ed. IMO the same questions could be addressed to the Community Arts Council. Let's hope that answers are forthcoming.
It makes you wonder when all this waste is going to stop. Will it be when everyone gets tired of it and moves out of town? These "City Fathers" think the well is endless. What is it going to take to get someone at city hall to listen to what the majority want and not the special interest groups that each think their cause is the greatest? Let's just run city business and not give money to every Tom, Dick, and Harry that comes begging. WE CANNOT AFFORD IT!!!!!!
