Prince George, B.C. -  Prince George RCMP say an armed standoff that lasted almost 24-hours, ended peacefully this morning near Nukko Lake.

Police received a complaint of a domestic assault with a firearm just after 11am yesterday morning.  The incident had reportedly occurred on Saturday .

Police officers went to the Nukko Lake residence yesterday and determined an intoxicated male was alone in the home.  The RCMP Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Service and negotiators were called in to assist General Duty members.

After negotiation through the night, a 48-year-old man surrendered to police without incident around 8am this morning.  Police are recommending charges of pointing a firearm and uttering threats.
