Prince George, B.C. -  Allnorth Consultants has taken the top award for construction management and supervision at the 7th annual Deputy Minister's Awards for Consulting Engineers.

The award recognizes technical excellence in consulting services that improve transportation infrastructure in the province.  Allnorth was given the nod for managing the Fort Fraser Overhead project on Highway 16-West, which involved strengthening the substructure of the rail overhead, widening the deck, improving the structure's alignment and widening its approaches.

In acknowledging Allnorth's accomplishment, Transportation Minister, Shirley Bond, says, "Through every step of the project, the company kept the lines of communication open with the ministry about its progress and possible challenges, which helped ensure the project's success in the eyes of the ministry and the community."

Runner-up firms were both nominated for projects in the region:  CMS Focus Construction Management Services of Victoria for the Highway 97 four-laning project just south of Quesnel and McElhanney Consulting Services Ltd. of Surrey for a realigning and four-laning project near 100 Mile House.
