Prince George, B.C. -  Liberal Leadership hopeful, Mike de Jong, is the first of the party's six candidates to release membership numbers...

de Jong says the first phase of his campaign has been about recruiting new members and he says he will have signed up more than 10-thousand new members by this evening's 5pm deadline.

"I have travelled acrss the province, and it has been very gratifying to find strong support for my candidacy from all over British Columbia," says de Jong.  "More importantly, we have been able to recruit real people to the party, from every walk of life, from every region and from every culture."

Only registered party members will be able to vote in February 26th's leadership election.

Talk it up Mike!
You are NOT going to win the Liberal leadership.
Not going to happen, and you of all people should know that.
(I suspect you do.)
And if and when your fellow candidates start throwing punches and quit being so sickening polite to each other,(also known as bullsh**ting the public),the last two standing will be probably be Falcon and Abbott.
The Liberal old boys club will not let Clark in, unless of course,...they are afraid of what she knows, and it is a safe bet she knows a lot!
The winner has already been decided...Falcon.
This is really about signing up members to throw to Falcon at the last minute, and push him over the top.
Watch.
It seems that this "leadership" race is carefully orchestrated to appear to be something that it is not.
Once again, the Campbell clones underestimate the ability of the public to see through the smoke and mirrors.
Wow. Sounds like to you got it all figured out, Andyfreeze. Is everything a conspiracy?

I really don't believe that the leadership hopefuls have put cash, credibility and their personal lives on hold if they honestly did not believe they had a shot at the top.

Don't dismiss Clark so soon. The face of politics is changing at record speed.

Obama??
Time will tell opine.
And no,not everything is a conspiracy, but some things are obviously not quite what they seem to be.
I have a suspicion that this may be one of those times.
It sure is unfortunate that we have the two parties to chose from but I can't choose a party that sells a perfectly good railway for a song and puts a regressive tax into the mix Clark, Falcon, and Abbot are all Liberals and I give them all the jaundiced eye. They all had the oportunity to say No to Campbel.
