If the Prince George Cougars are going to make a run for a division title, it will have to start this weekend with two big clashes with the Kelowna Rockets at CN Centre.

The two teams are squaring off at CN Centre Friday and Saturday, with a nine point gap separating the two teams for second in the BC division.  The Cougars come into the game with a record of 24-23-2-1 for 51 points while the Rockets have 30 wins in their first 50 games and have 60 points, one back of the Vancouver Giants for first in the division.  In the Western Conference standings, the Cougars are sitting sixth, tied with the Everett Silvertips in points, while the Rockets are currently fifth.

The Cougars and Rockets are seeing each other for the final time this season.  Through the first seven games, the Cougars have gone 1-4-1-0 against Kelowna, taking the first game of the season series 6-2 on September 25 in Kelowna.  Nick Buonassisi leads the Cougars with two goals and seven points in seven games against the Rockets this season.

Brock Hirsche, Charles Inglis, Jaroslav Vlach and Troy Bourke all carry three game point streaks into Friday night's tilt.  Puck drop is 7:00pm and tickets are available by calling Ticketmaster at 250-564-5585.
