Referendum For Willow River Residents Today

Prince George, B.C. - Property owners living in the Willow River townsite will be voting in a referendum today that will decide whether they get a community water and sewer system.
Residents will be asked if they're in favour of two bylaws authorizing the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George to proceed with the project. If approved, property owners within the service area will a yearly capital cost applied to their taxes of $1,095, a yearly user fee of $490, in addition to some one-time expenses associated with connectig to the system. The Regional District conducted a community survey to gauge support for the system, prior to passing third reading of the bylaws. The complete bylaws can be viewed on the district's website at www.rdffg.bc.ca
There are two polling stations for today' referendum: 1. the Willow River Fire Hall 2. the Regional District office at 155 George Street. Polls are open from 8am until 8pm.
