The Prince George Cougars will look for their first win on their current five game road trip Friday when they travel to Lethbridge to face the Hurricanes.
The Cougars and Hurricanes are meeting for the second and final time this season with the 'Canes taking a 4-1 decision the first time the teams met on October 8. The Cougars have started the road trip with losses in Edmonton Tuesday and Medicine Hat Wednesday and embark on three games in three nights this weekend.
Brett Connolly had the Cougars only goal against the Hurricanes in October, scoring right before the final buzzer to end the shut-out bid of Brandon Anderson. The Cougars Captain reached the 30 goal plateau Wednesday in Medicine Hat and carries a five game point streak into Friday's tilt with the Hurricanes. The Cougars come into the game with a record of 26-25-2-1 for 55 points, sitting third in the BC division and sixth in the Western Conference. The Hurricanes are fighting for their playoff lives in the Eastern Conference, currently 18-26-3-8 for 47 points, fifth in the Central division and 10th in the conference. They are only two points behind eighth place Swift Current.
The Cougars continue the trip in Calgary Saturday then wrap it up Sunday in Red Deer. The Cougars will return home to face the Everett Silvertips next weekend at CN Centre, with both games starting at 7:00pm. Tickets are available by calling 250-564-5585.
