Prince George, B.C. - A 63-year-old Prince George man remains in critical condition in the University Hospital of Northern B.C., following a two-vehicle collision in the BCR industrial site this morning.
RCMP say the man was the driver of the taxi cab involved in the crash that occurred on Pacific Street, near Sintich Road, at 9am this morning. The passenger, a 58-year-old male, and the 40-year-old male driver of the other vehicle involved, a blue SUV, were also transported to hospital, but police say they suffered non life-threatening injuries.
At this time, RCMP are commending the driver of a utility truck who came upon the scene of the crash and immediately offered first aid to the driver of the SUV until Fire Rescue personnel were able to extricate the man using the 'jaws of life'.
A North District Traffic Analyst spent several hours at the scene, but it's not known which vehicle was on the wrong side of the road. Police say Pacific Street was extremely icy at the time of the crash. None of the three victims had been wearing a seatbelt.
