Prince George, B.C. - A 63-year-old Prince George man remains in critical condition in the University Hospital of Northern B.C., following a two-vehicle collision in the BCR industrial site this morning.

RCMP say the man was the driver of  the taxi cab involved in the crash that occurred on Pacific Street, near Sintich Road, at 9am this morning.  The passenger, a 58-year-old male, and the 40-year-old male driver of the other vehicle involved, a blue SUV, were also transported to hospital, but police say they suffered non life-threatening injuries.

At this time, RCMP are commending the driver of a utility truck who came upon the scene of the crash and immediately offered first aid to the driver of the SUV until Fire Rescue personnel were able to extricate the man using the 'jaws of life'.

A North District Traffic Analyst spent several hours at the scene, but it's not known which vehicle was on the wrong side of the road.  Police say Pacific Street was extremely icy at the time of the crash.  None of the three victims had been wearing a seatbelt.

None of the three victims had been wearing a seatbelt?

What a tough way to learn a valuable lesson!

I hope they all make a full recovery.

good Point, but also the Road was wearing no Sand, how about that for a cause?
how about driving for road conditions,I was passed on that road about 830 that day
Regardless of the cause of any accident. You're going to be far better off if you're wearing a seatbelt.
Right on, newtechguy! Wearing a seat belt is the right thing to do, not only for ones own sake, but also in consideration of how much more damage one can inflict on society as a whole and on the health care system in particular when driving around for pleasure or when making a living driving!

It is really quite unbelievable how many people STILL did not get the message.

Hopefully they will make a full recovery.

Its nice to see that there are some intelligent people posting to this site. Wear a seat belt. It is true that the taxi driver issue of the taxi driver may have been overdone, but hey...My question is if the silly regulations allow taxi drivers to not wear a seat belt, who pays for their medical bills and does this regulation apply when the taxi driver has no passengers? Also, why don't we make the taxis have cages? This way they may be more protected and could wear seat belts.
I was the first and only taxi to install a complete cage around me, where I could wear a seat belt and not be threatened by undesirable customers. You have no idea how scarry some people can be when they are high on drugs and/or booze!
My issue is not with taxi drivers. Taxinapothole raises a good point. Working in the service industry and probably particularly in the taxi business one must meet the most interesting people. My issue is with idiots who don't wear seat belts. Taxi drivers and probably bus drivers deserve a lot of respect, especially when and if they wear their seat belts and serve as good role models. How many times do we hear about an accident and the occupants were not wearing seat belts? One wonders what the police are doing?
