Prince George, B.C. - In addition to Sarah Beaudry's bronze medal, a number of Prince George athletes had strong showings on day two of the games in Halifax...

19-year-old Aaron Neumann captured a 5th place finish in the Biathlon 15km Individual Male, while 17-year-old Arthur Roots finished in 16th spot and 17-year-old Rob Martin finished the race in 27th place out of a field of 38.

All three athletes train at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club alongside Beaudry. And all three will compete in two more events at the 2011 Games:  the 10km Sprint tomorrow and the 12.5km Pursuit on Wednesday.  (Burns Lake biathlete Allie Dickson finished 17th in the 12.5km Individual Female.  Dickson is attending UNBC and lists both the Caledonia Nordics and the Omineca Biathlon Team as her clubs.)

In hockey, Team BC fell 5-4 to Quebec in overtime on Saturday, but beat Nova Scotia 8-5 yesterday.  Prince George's Josh Connolly tallied an assist in the game.  BC plays Ontario today in a game that gets underway at 3:30pm our time.

Sarah Pousette, a member of the Prince George Blizzards Speed Skating Club, was back on the Ice Oval in Halifax yesterday.

The 19-year-old finished 9th in the Long Track 1000m on Saturday, and secured another 9th place finish yesterday in the Long Track 1500m event. (photo at left taken during that event, courtesy of TeamBC)

Pousette, who currently trains in Calgary while attending U of C, competes in the 3000m today and the Team Pursuit on Wednesday.

Another member of the Blizzards, Tim Hempsall, finished in 8th place yesterday in the Short Track Speed Skating 1500m Male.
