Prince George, B.C. -  The Lheidli T'enneh have presented a gift to the Mi'kmaq First Nation in Halifax to recognize the 2011 Winter Games are being held on the Mi'kmaq traditional territory.

Joshua Seymour travelled to Halifax as part of the Prince George contingent, he is a member of the local First Nation, as well as one of the founding members of the 2015 Host Society.

Seymour handcrafted the wooden box he presented to Mi'kmaq Grand Chief Ben Sylliboy.  Inside, it contained a feather from the Lheidli T'enneh's traditional territory.

Prince George Mayor Dan Rogers was also on-hand for the presentation.  Later this morning, Mayor Rogers will present Halifax Mayor, Peter Kelly, with a wooden bowl that was made by the local woodturners' guild.  The bowl was crafted from one of the trees that was removed in front of City Hall a few years ago, during restoration work.

The gift is to honour Halifax's efforts in hosting the 2011 Games...from the host of the 2015 Games.

Whew, I am glad that, that went over well.
Ya me too...I was really worried about that!
It is small gestures that inspire large ones.
Luckily, there were sufficient funds in the kitty for this grand and momentous occasion. Surely we will reap many rewards.
