Prince George, B.C. - What a way cap their Winter Games' experiences, both Prince George Long Track speed skaters ended on a high...

Sarah Pousette clinched gold in the Team Pursuit, along with Kelowna's Ali Banwell, and Josie and Tori Spence of Kamloops yesterday.  Pousette competed in a total of six events.  Her highest individual finish was 6th place in the in the 3000m event.

Phillip Shrimpton also went out on a high - a 6th place finish in Team Pursuit.  Also on Team BC for that race was Dawson Creek's Braden James Clouthier.  Shrimpton skated in five Long Track events.  His best individual finish was placing 18th in the 500m.

In Short Track, PG's Tim Hempsall came in 10th spot in the 1000m yesterday.  The Games close out for Hempsall today with the final in the 3000m Relay.

Local biathlete, Sarah Beaudry, wrapped up her competition just two spots shy of a medal with a 5th place finish in the 10km Pursuit.  The 16-year-old member of the Caledonia Nordic Ski Club is coming home with a gold in the 7.5km Sprint, and a bronze in the 12.5km.

On the men's side, 19-year-old Aaron Neumann completed his third and final race, the 12.5km Pursuit, in 5th, 17-year-old Arthur Roots came in 18th, and Rob Martin finished 27th.

In hockey, Team BC, which includes Prince George's Josh Connolly, doubled Manitoba 4-2 in quarter-final action and will play Ontario in one of the semis today.  BC suffered its worst loss, 5-1, to Ontario in the round robin. 

Avril Harris of Prince George and Quesnel's Erik Vliegenthart lost a close one as Team BC fell 50-48 to PEI in wheelchair basketball.  The team is already out of medal contention, but plays Nova Scotia as part of the placement games today.  The gold medal game, also set for today, features Ontario against Quebec.
