Prince George, B.C.- The University Hospital of Northern BC is  the new home of a special piece of First Nations art.

The 16-foot, almost 500-pound carving by artist Peter George  is now in the atrium of the Hospital.

Much like a totem pole, the All Clans Crest carvings’ story starts from the bottom and explains the history of Northern Interior Aboriginal groups. The first three-clan design represents the Frog, Beaver, Grouse clans and recently the Caribou clan was welcomed back to the Lheidli T’enneh, on whose traditional territory UHNBC is located. These Lheidli T’enneh clans are ‘held up’ by the many other family crests included in the piece.

I thought the health system was supposed to be short of money?
No, it's OUR overall ability to repay money (from current Incomes that are only a PART of ALL the Costs that flow through into Prices and Taxes) that we're short of.

Aside from that, it's a fine piece of work by an obviously talented artist. A very nice addition to the University Hospital.
How about a three dimensional carving of the gene that causes diabetes? More educational than heritage.
